THE UCLA PCBD Checklist
The UCLA PCBD Checklist is a 39-item instrument designed to assess DSM-5 proposed criteria for Persistent Complex Bereavement Disorder. The Checklist covers symptoms of Category B (e.g., intense longing, sorrow, and emotional pain; preoccupation with the circumstances of the death), and Category C-Reactive Distress to the Death (e.g., disbelief, maladaptive appraisals, avoidance of loss reminders); and Social/Identity Disruption (e.g., feeling that life is meaningless, confusion about one’s role in life). The PCBD Checklist includes a single-page scoring sheet and a detailed test administration manual.
